England wins first test match despite Mushfiq-Junaed battle

Shakib Al Hasan regretted for his toss decision after the first test match of two match series against England. England beat Bangladesh by 181 run. Bangladeshi Wicket keeper Mushfiqur Rahim and Junaed Siddique made the match challenging for England with an outstanding 6th wicket partnership of 167 runs. They have consumed almost 5 hours to score this run while they started to build up this partnership from a die strict. Bangladesh was 110/5 before this partnership started. Chasing a mammoth total of 513 runs it was looking like all over for Bangladesh. But when this partnership continues to flourish and passed the 1st session of fifth day, there was a outside chance created for winning this match. English bowlers started to sweat by frustration. But Swann struck for English after the lunch with the wicket of Junaed. Stylish Mushfiq followed him very soon and the Fantasy comes the end. Then Sixer Naeem fought for sometimes with Shahadat with a nice blow of 36 run. Junaed scored 106 and Mushfiq scored 95 run for Bangladesh while Bangladeshi score ended up with 331. Graem Swann 5 wickets in each innings and was adjudged man of the match. Shakib Al Hasan said that, 'The boys showed a lot of character in the latter half of the game and the track didn't turn much as expected. I regret my decision to bowl first. Cook, Collingwood and Pietersen played well and we couldn't put pressure on them. I think Junaid and Rahim played well in the second innings. Read more in Dhaka News
